MATATU DRIVER STONED HIGH HIV INFECTIONS

A matatu driver with Travellers Choice Sacco was admitted to Kenyatta National Hospital after he was reportedly hit with a stone thrown by a tout after the duo picked a quarrel at Kenol stage in Maragua of Murang’a county recently.
Andre Mwangi Karari, a father of one was at Kenol stage waiting for commuters to board his vehicle when the tout who was driving another matatu hit another one.
When Mwangi told the tout to be careful and that he was lucky not to have hit anyone, the tout shouted back at Mwangi and called him “Kihii” (uncircumcised boy) then a bitter exchange of words ensued.
The tout went for a huge stone and hit Mwangi on the back of the head sending him sprawling on the ground while bleeding profusely and in excruciating pain.
The victim who resides at Witeithie Estate in Thika was rushed to Sabasaba Hospital where he was given first aid. He was later referred to Thika Level Five Hospital.
He was later referred to Kenyatta National Referral Hospital for head scan. A family member said the scan showed the driver had suffered broken skull and would undergo a delicate head surgery.
Meanwhile, the tout is said to have also gone to Kabati Police Station in Murang’a where the matter had been reported to make his report in a bid to make it look like  it was the victim who was wrong.
