Former
Manchester
United captain Roy
Keane slammed the Red Devils' defending after their 2-1 defeat to Arsenal.
Antonio
Valencia sold David De Gea short with a backpass to let another ex-United
player, Danny Welbeck, in to score the winner.
Keane
admitted the Gunners deserved the victory, and thinks the Spanish keeper could
have taken one for the team on the second goal.
The
Irishman said: "It was shocking defending. I was critical of the first
goal but that was even worse.
"United
needed to do more, they never got going in the second half. I don't begrudge
Arsenal the win.
"There
is a time to play and a time not to - Phil Jones should have cleared it.
Valencia compounded his first half error.
"I
think the keeper can take Welbeck out of the game. He would get sent off but he
could have made the sacrifice."

Despite
the defeat, and another trophy-less season for United, Keane insists they
should stick with Louis van Gaal.
"They've
got to give him a chance. He needs two or three years to rebuild the
club."
Keane's
former team-mate and ex-United stopper Peter Schmeichel
was also unimpressed with United's display under the lights at Old Trafford.

struggle: Di Maria was sent off for United
Before
making the draw for the semi-finals, the Dane said: "This was an FA Cup
game - and I didn't see Manchester United play it as an FA Cup game.
"This
was their only chance to win a trophy this season and there were too many
players not playing how they should. There were too many mistakes, too many
individual mistakes."
Arsenal
will play either Bradford City or Reading in the semi-finals at Wembley, while Aston
Villa will take on the winners of Blackburn vs Liverpool.
