Police reports now indicate a journalist from Uganda was approached by a senior member of the Public Accounts Committee to hire killers of Nyatike MP Omondi Anyanga.
Information exclusively obtained by the People Daily shows the journalist (name withheld) recorded a statement on Sunday at Lang’ata Police Station where he claimed the PAC member wanted Anyanga dead over the ongoing probe on allegations of corruption facing the public watchdog team.
The journalist claimed the said member advanced him Sh100,000 as part payment for the job.  Sources at the police station said the police have an audio recording of the meeting where the killing of Anyanga was discussed.
“The journalist surrendered the audio recording of the meeting where Sh100,000 was paid as a down payment for the service.”   Contacted, Anyanga declined to comment on whether he knew the Ugandan journalist, referring us to the police.
The MP is said to have been attacked by hooded armed gang of four at his Karen estate on Saturday night.
