KENYA RAPE MP TO BE TAKEN TO COURT TODAY

NAIROBI, Kenya Apr 2 – Imenti Central MP Gideon Mwiti was expected in court on Thursday morning to face rape charges after spending the night in police custody.
Mwiti was arrested late Wednesday and taken to Kileleshwa Police station where he spent the night.
CID Director Ndegwa Muhoro has confirmed that they have finalized investigations against the MP who is accused of raping a former journalist in his Westlands office.
“It is true he is in custody and will be taken to court,” Muhoro told Capital FM News, but did not offer more details.
The woman is married to Mwiti’s friend who introduced her to him for business before she accused him of raping her in his office.
Although Mwiti admits meeting the woman on the material day, he denies the rape claims.
A doctor accused of forcefully taking a HIV test on the woman during the incident was last week charged for operating without a licence.
