MPs say Sh3b too small for their problems

Four MPs from Nyamira county have rubbished the move by the Budget and Appropriation committee to allocate their respective constituencies a total of over Sh3 billion for the roads upgrade in their respective constituencies.
The MPs Charles Geni (North Mugirango), Ben Momanyi (Borabu), James Gesami (West Mugirango) and Alice Chae (Nyamira county MP) termed the move by the committee as the highest level corruption which must be investigated and action be  taken against the committee.
Addressing the press in Nyamira town, the four legislators said that it was illegal for the 51 members of the Budget and Appropriation committee to use their positions to steal public funds in the name of allocating more fund for roads projects in their regions.
Momanyi reminded the committee that its business was not to address problems facing their own constituencies but all constituencies in the country.
He told the committee which is being chaired by Mutava Musymi to prepare for the titanic battle over the matter in the house.
Gesami said that all constituencies were equal and must get equal funding contrary to what the committee in charge of the budget was doing.
He said that he was sure that once the matter is brought to parliament, it would not see the light of the day.
Gesami who is an ODM legislator asked Musyimi to resign from the position since he has demonstrated that he has compromised his position by being biased.
