Women in Vihiga county are up in arms against a politician seeking the position of women representative 2017. They claim due to her morals, Beatrice Adagala lost the position currently held by Dorcas Kedogo.
The women said that Adagala has not yet resolved a case where she was allegedly compromised to withdraw from police a case where a rep was accused of helping her niece procure abortion after he impregnated her.
Adagala is alleged to have received Sh350,000 from the amorous MCA to withdraw the case where the politician was to face legal action for impregnating a schoolgirl and later helping her terminate the pregnancy.
The MCA is said to have raised the money from his UDF colleagues in the assembly and given the money to her at Sosa Cottages as protection fee.
The girl who was a student by then was under Adagala’s custody and almost died when the MCA convinced her to terminate the pregnancy at Vihiga referral hospital.
Sources said that the girl who was not happy that Adagala did not give her any money from the loot she got from the MCA has since left Adagala’s home and has a sponsor who is supporting her education.
Women leaders said that they were not happy with Adagala’s move, saying that she is not the right person to take charge of women affairs in the assembly.
They said that if elected, she will defend men who mess around with young girls in the county, adding that Adagala should forget getting their support.
They claimed that Adagala did not have respect for her husband and she has a tendency of quarreling him in the public. The women questioned what Adagala was always doing with a young man who works at Sabatia CDF offices in her car at night. The women said they will soon declare the women they will rally behind for the seat.They noted that Kedogo had let them down because she has done little to support women.
