SUSPECT IN LAND DEAL GUNNED DOWN

A man charged with fraud and conning a land buyer of Sh100 million was shot 13 times by gunmen along Limuru road on Thursday morning.
Paul Kariuki Ngugi was shot dead as he drove home with a female passenger.
The woman, whose relationship with the deceased is yet to established, escaped unhurt.
Gigiri CID chief Philip Kandie said police have opened investigations into the murder.
Nothing was stolen from Ngugi's car in which police found copies of title deeds and other land transaction documents.
Ngugi was charged at a Nairobi court in 2014 with forging Joseph Muthama Macharia's title deed.
He was also charged with conspiring to defraud Stephen Irungu Macharia using the forged title by pretending he was the rightful property owner capable of selling it.
He reportedly committed the crimes between April 9 and August 9 with accomplices not before the court.
He faced a second count of forgery, stating that the deed was signed by a registrar of titles identified in the charge sheet as F I Lubullela.
He denied the charges and was granted a Sh10 million bond or Sh3 million cash bail.
The case had been set for hearing on March 26.
