Governor Alex Tolgos has shuffled
his cabinet in a move aimed at enhancing his administration’s
effectiveness and efficiency. The
governor moved seven county executive committee (CEC) members to other
departments while retaining two in their previous dockets. Dr Stella Rono takes
over from Moris Rotich as the Education and Technical Training executive from
Agriculture, Livestock and Fisheries. Â Rotich will head Public Works, Roads
and Transport, a post held previously by Eng Simon Kiplagat who will now lead
the Water, Physical Planning and Natural Resources docket. Kiplagat replaced
Thomas Ruto who has been moved to head the Health Services department, taking
over from Stephen Biwott. Biwott has been moved to Information, Communication
Technology and Public Service, replacing Monica Rotich who will now be in
charge of Sports, Women and Social Services. Shadrack Yatich will now head the
Agriculture, Livestock and Fisheries department. Those who retained their
dockets are Shadrack Chelimo (Finance and Economic Planning) and Anne Kibosia
(Trade, Co-operatives, Energy and Tourism). “I have decided to
do a cabinet reshuffle and position the CECs in
departments where their potential can be fully utilised and enhanced,†said Tolgos at his Iten office. He said the executives had
performed well in their previous dockets, noting that more still needed to be
done, including more policy development in order to deliver voters’ aspirations. Tolgos ordered the CECs to consult more in
their respective dockets
