ELGEYO MARAKWET GOVERNOR SHUFFLES CABINET

Governor Alex Tolgos has shuffled his cabinet in a move aimed at enhancing his administration’s effectiveness and efficiency. The governor moved seven county executive committee (CEC) members to other departments while retaining two in their previous dockets. Dr Stella Rono takes over from Moris Rotich as the Education and Technical Training executive from Agriculture, Livestock and Fisheries.  Rotich will head Public Works, Roads and Transport, a post held previously by Eng Simon Kiplagat who will now lead the Water, Physical Planning and Natural Resources docket. Kiplagat replaced Thomas Ruto who has been moved to head the Health Services department, taking over from Stephen Biwott. Biwott has been moved to Information, Communication Technology and Public Service, replacing Monica Rotich who will now be in charge of Sports, Women and Social Services. Shadrack Yatich will now head the Agriculture, Livestock and Fisheries department. Those who retained their dockets are Shadrack Chelimo (Finance and Economic Planning) and Anne Kibosia (Trade, Co-operatives, Energy and Tourism). “I have decided to do a cabinet reshuffle and position the CECs in departments where their potential can be fully utilised and enhanced,” said Tolgos at his Iten office. He said the executives had performed well in their previous dockets, noting that more still needed to be done, including more policy development in order to deliver voters’ aspirations. Tolgos ordered the CECs to consult more in their respective dockets
