Dreaded armed gang takes control of Kisumu as police doze

Panic has gripped lakeside city of Kisumu following an attempt by the once dreaded Baghdad gang now calling itself American Marines to unleash terror on innocent residents.
The armed thugs have remained a nightmare to locals even as the local police promise to crush the group before more criminal damage is done.
Newly posted deputy police boss John Mwinzi said his office was working round the clock to ensure that Kisumu becomes a no- go zone for marauding criminals out to harm innocent citizens.
According to our sources, American Marine Boys has formed a habit of storming  entertainment  joints and after intoxicating themselves, they brandish guns at patrons claiming that they have a blessings from a senior politician in Luoland whose son is said to have facilitated the guns to the criminals.
The politician’s son according to well placed sources had the guns delivered to American Marine Boys through a son of a former rebel leader in South Sudan.
It is said that the weapons were given out at the height of the last general elections.
Security officers are however quick to point out that the guns in the hands of the illiterate youths are being misused as club owners in the town complain of harassment and have appealed to the police to control the menace.
In one incident, the crooks stormed the home of one of their perceived rival and pounced on him with crude weapons and senselessly beat him up.
The once Baghdad  Boys turned Marines is a criminal gang that left a trail of bloodshed and orgies of violence and destruction in Kisumu city and its environs as the country agitated for multi-party democracy.
A new group calling itself China Squad quickly came to the scene and earned itself a positive image after engaging in development and peace initiatives  with almost all of their members who are said to be working with Jubilee.
The list of the gangsters currently being hunted by the police consists the name of one notorious  bus conductor and stage chairman only known as Jacksnee while others in the group go by the names of Muga, Steve, Cliff Ojuang Ponge, Kobi and Daudi.
While addressing the press, China Squad spokesman James Kirunda said his team is a peaceful wing which is working with the government to ensure that youths in Nyanza gain from the government.
Kirunda lauded Uhuru Kenyatta for initiating development projects for them through the ministry of Devolution headed by Anne Waiguru.
