A
couple’s moment of passion was cut short after they discovered a man under
their bed. It is alleged the couple had booked a room at a lodging in Ngara at
around 11pm, only to discover they had a peeping Tom in the room.
“When we
returned around 10pm after a few drinks, we headed straight to bed. We did not
suspect anyone was in the room. I was looking for slippers when I touched a
man’s hand. I was shocked to see a man emerge from under the bed,” the couple
told police. The couple immediately alerted the hotel’s management who called
police and arrested the man. Appearing before court, the suspect, Edward Thuku,
claimed he had no ill motives and had confused rooms. However, according to
police records, Thuku had no receipt and had illegally gained access to the
room. He was released on a Sh10,000 cash bail. His case will be heard next year
on January 19.
