People living with disabilities in Ukambani have come out in defence of their colleague Bishop Robert Mutemi in a case filed at the High Court to have him kicked out of parliament. The case was filed by Wiper youth leader Muriuki Ndwiga from Embu. It is claimed Kalonzo Musyoka is the engineer of case. Mutemi represents the disabled in the National Assembly.
The MP is accused of not having been a member of Wiper party headed by the former VP when he was nominated.
According to sources, Kalonzo wants Bishop Mutemi out so that Wiper nominates him to parliament after his attempts to join Uhuru Kenyatta’s Jubilee appear to have hit a stone wall. Kalonzo, those who talk to him say, would wish to serve in the government in whatever capacity but blames his failure to hammer a deal with Jubilee on the president’s mother, former First Lady, Mama Ngina Kenyatta and Deputy President William Ruto. Analysts, however, say Uhuru knowing well Kalonzo has no time for Jubilee has opted to work with the young breed of leaders from Ukambani.
It is claimed each Ukambani governor gives Kalonzo money after every two weeks for running Wiper party like in Raila Odinga’s ODM where each governor, MP, senator and even MCA is said to be remitting funds to Raila.
