Toygun in Kondele toilet scares residents

There was panic when police in Kisumu discovered a toy pistol abandoned by suspected robbers in a toilet in the notorious Kondele Estate.
Speaking to the press in his office, the new Kondele OCS Ben Baraza, said the discovery of the toygun in pit latrine scared residents who immediately reported to the police.
This comes as Nyanza regional police coordinator Willy Lugusa reaffirms police commitment to weed out criminal elements in the area.
Recently, Lugusa cited Kondele as one of the estates earmarked for police operations in the war against crime that  has escalated in the region. Other estates in the watch list include Obunga, Manyatta, Kondele and Migosi.
Baraza urged members of the public to support police in the fight against crime in the area by offering information that could lead to the arrest of suspected criminals.
“As you can see, the residents through community policing are coordinating well with the police and I would encourage them to continue with the same move as we try to deal with insecurity to a zero point,” he added.
Recently, an accountant was robbed Sh40,000 in the estate but met a rude shock when in his attempt to pursue the gang, he was repulsed by a group of young pistol totting men who ordered him to stop the chase.
