SAMBURU GOVERNOR TABLES SAMPLES IN SENATE

Following allegations from members of the public and section of MCAs, Samburu Governor Moses Lenolkulal has come out publicly to defend his county government over alleged misappropriation of Sh29 million meant for development of the county infrastructure and other ventures.

According to MCAs, the Sh29 million was misappropriated between January and June last year and there have been reports that it was used to purchase goods for the county contrary to the findings of the Auditor General’s report.

Last week, Lenolkulal appeared before the Senate Sessional Committee of County Public Accounts and Investments and shocked the senators when he produced samples of goods he claimed were acquired by the money said to have been lost.

“Every financial transaction was above board. There is no money which was lost. We had not updated our books because there was no staff to do so but now our books are clean,” he told the senators.
