A bitter row is brewing at Bungoma County Women Sacco over what its members term as nepotism coupled with rampant corruption prompting some staff to desert the Sacco.
The case in point is the recent allegation by the Sacco members that it has lost over Sh700,000 to people well connected to Bungoma woman MP Reginalda Wanyonyi.
Led by political activist Sedie Omar, the members accused the legislator over nepotism that has riddled the Sacco’s management.
It has also emerged that the Sacco chairman Francis Wanyonyi is the husband to Reginalda Wanyonyi and treasurer James Mukhwana being his firstborn son.
“Let the MP come out and state where Sh1million alleged to have been withdrawn by his family members went to,” said Sedie.
On the other hand, workers have complained over salary payment delayed for eight months and have however threatened to stage a demo over the delayed salaries.
Reached for comment, the MP denied the allegations stating that its just malice laced with propaganda to tarnish her name.
