MUTUA IMPEACHEMENT LIKLEY TO FAIL

A section of Wiper party officials have been accused of wedging war against Machakos Governor Alfred Mutua, in a bid to replace him with his deputy. Three MPs from Ukambani region said the bid will be in vain since majority of the MCAs being urged to impeach Mutua are loyal to him. The legislators included Regina Ndambuki (Kilome), Benson Mbai (Masinga) Vincent Musyoka (Mwala) and more than 50 MCAs from the three counties in the region. They were reacting to last week's call by MCAs allied to Machakos Senator Johnstone Muthama and deputy governor Bernard Kiala, who resolved to impeach Mutua. But Mutua dismissed the threats as empty and misplaced. "No amount of threats would stop me from serving the people of Machakos,'' he said.
