NAIROBI, Kenya Jan 17 – Former Prime Minister Raila Odinga
now says his family is determined to get to the bottom of Fidel’s death.
Speaking at his residence in Karen, the CORD leader appealed to the government to honour its pledge and help the family know what killed his first -born son.
“It is our wish to know the truth,” Odinga said at a press conference where he was accompanied by
his daughter Rosemary, son Junior and Fidel’s widow Lwam
Odinga said it is not the family’s wish to assign blame to anyone before the truth is known, their hearts remain broken by Fidel’s sudden death.
“We appreciate the government commitment as expressed by the president to unravel the secret behind Fidel death,” the CORD leader said, adding “If something might have happened we are determined to get down to the cause of his death.”
Fidel was found dead in his Karen house two weeks ago after a night-out with his friends.
The family is understood to have sent samples to Germany for further tests after a postmortem conducted in Nairobi failed to determine the actual cause of his death.
During his funeral, the late Fidel was described by leaders as a ‘humble man who knew how to interact with everyone’.
