Cleric donates cash to mothers of ten

An outspoken PCEA cleric  caused stir to mourners when he asked women who have given birth to 10 children and above to come forward  for each to receive Sh100 from him at the pulpit since people in Central Kenya have declined to bear children like before, causing  reduction of population growth rate in the region.
Rev Samuel Theuri who is the church minister in charge of PCEA Muruguru church made the call to the women before starting delivering a funeral sermon for the repose of the soul of departed Lydia Wambui Wahome.
The cleric noted that the deceased left behind 10 children. Four elderly women responded to the clergyman’s call and went forward  to the pulpit to receive the cash token from the man of the collar while the Nyeri county governor Samuel Githaiga gave Sh1000 to each of the four elderly women.
“We must go against all odds including economic pleasure and give birth to as many children as possible,’’ urged Rev Theuri. He appealed to all people in Central Kenya region who are in the child bearing bracket to start giving birth to many children lest the community  faces near extinction. Theuri also blamed  male impotence rocking the region to excessive consumption of counterfeit and adulterated alcohol.
