A
lobby group in Homa Bay county operating in the name of Homa Bay County
Salvation Front is set to name the county shadow executive in two weeks time.
The
shadow executive that will include the executive spokesperson who will check
the governor’s office will comprise of young people mostly below 45 years of
age.
Speaking
to the press after a church worship at Bonde SDA Church in Oyugis, the group
leader Aguko Mayora said the shadow executive to be named soon will help
in constructive oversight as each ministry will have a particular individual on
behalf of the general public.
Mayora
who was flanked by the group’s coordinator Errol Okumu and Kasipul constituency
ODM youth leader Aseda Mariwa said that the shadow cabinet or executive
is a common practice in governments in the commonwealth countries and
hope that when formed, the shadow county government will result into good
and better governance in Homa Bay county.
The
shadow executive will work hand in hand with county assembly to make sure that
all planned development programmes within the county are implemented in
accordance with the people’s expectations.
The
group asked the governor and his team to accord them goodwill as its
objective is to ensure sustainable development for the people of Homa Bay. “Let
us all join hands in building this beautiful lakeshore county as we pray for a
better county for our posterity,” said Okumu.
