High
Court Judge Mumbi Ngaru last week directed the Kajiado county public service
board to solve 24 controversial appointments. She has urged stakeholders and
policy-makers to solve the contentious matter.
She
made the ruling after 55 residents of Ewuaso Onking’oi and Keekonyokie wards in
Kajiado who had demanded that the appointments be nullified claiming they had
been discriminated against through unfair distribution of jobs.
The
residents were represented by Gideon Meyoki and Tinai Murete who claimed that
the county government did not advertise the 24 vacancies but dished out 20
slots to Orok Mong’i clan while the remaining four slots were reserved for the
Orok kiteng clan.
