NINE MONOSHINE BREWS IN KIRINYAGA COUNTY AXED



The government has shut down four factories suspected of making illicit brews in Kirinyaga county. One of the factories was located at a residential area in Kutus town and produced moonshine liqour which was packed in plastic bottles.

Out of 14 cheap brews in the market in Kirinyaga  and Nyeri counties, only Kigwa,Kibuga, Munyiri, Waka Brew and Muhia  survived the chop. The rest were outlawed by Nacada for being unfit for consumption. Nacada official Robert Mwangi challenged local brewers from Mount Kenya region to start a full fledged beer factory. Mwangi was  addressing local brewers at Terrace Villa Hotel in Kutus town.
Four members of Kirinyaga county assembly attended the meeting.
