President
Uhuru Kenyatta and his deputy William Ruto will return to Ukambani this week to
launch some of the biggest development projects seen in the region in recent
years. Uhuru will first hold a meeting with Ukambani leaders before launching
the Sh2.5b Yatta canal and thereafter lay foundation stone for the Sh3b Medical
Training College Yatta Campus at Matuu District Hospital. Later, Uhuru will
launch a Sh126m water project for Matuu that has been funded by CDF, Tanathi
and the ministry of Water. Also in the cards is a harambee for 400 students who
already have raised Sh2m. Over 30 bulls will be slaughtered. Uhuru has been
invited by area MP Francis Mwangangi.
