MUDAVADI, WAIGURU HAND IN NEW APPOINTMENT

President Uhuru Kenyatta is understood to have consulted Musalia Mudavadi during the recent reshuffle in government and appointments of 13 new diplomats.

Reports reaching us reveal that Uhuru is out to reach people he believes will be instrumental in his re-election for a second term in office in 2017.
Sources say that the president and DP William Ruto agreed on a  crosscutting list to avoid hue and cry across the political divide.

Mudavadi, we have information was given two slots to fill by the president. Mudavadi picked his cousin lawyer Aggrey Shitsama, a well-known Kakamega solicitor and to be a deputy ambassador. Shitsama is a cousin of Mudavadi. The lawyer’s father and Mudavadi prevailed over Shitsama to run for Ikolomani parliamentary seat with no success.

When he was deputy prime minister, Shitsama at Mudavadi’s influence, landed the chairman’s job at Standards Tribunal. Months back, Ruto appointed his pointman in Kakamega politics Albert Mwilitsa, a former district commissioner, to replace Shitsama at the tribunal but the move came a cropper after complaints were made that Mwilitsa was not fit for the slot.

Another person who benefitted from Mudavadi in the recent appointment is George Godia, who was made Kenya’s representative to Unesco.
During the coalition government of Mwai Kibaki and Raila Odinga, Godia was education secretary. He was Mudavadi’s teacher at Nairobi School and a close friend of Mudavadi’s father the late Moses Budamba Mudavadi.

Godia has demonstrated a life-long dedication to and expertise in the expansion of access to education throughout the world. Having received his PhD in Education and International Relations and Master of Arts in International Affairs in Development Studies and Economics from Ohio University, Godia taught Education for over a decade at Moi University.
