MCA TO PETITION WEBUYE MP ON CDF DISBURSEMENT BIAS

Webuye East legislator Alfred Sambu has come under scathing attack after a county representative threatened that he will move to court to seek legal redress for alleged unfair distribution of resources in the constituency.

Maraka ward MCA Ali Mutoka said that he has instructed a legal team to structure a petition to stop further disbursement of the constituency development fund in what he termed as marred with favouritism and unfair distribution.

“We have addressed this matter with the area MP without redress. We are now going to move to court to block further disbursement and distribution of the fund until this matter is brought to resolved,” said the irate MCA.

He said his Maraka ward has been openly discriminated in the previous disbursement raising questions on the agenda of the MP. “We are sensing that this move is a political scheme to sideline the region that sources have divulged that the disbursement of CDF in terms of development projects has favoured two regions that overwhelmingly voted for the incumbent lawmaker”.

Webuye East constituency which is a cosmopolitan region has three wards namely Ndivisi, Mihuu and Maraka.

Unconfirmed reports from CDF disbursements indicate that Ndivisi ward has been allocated huge cash followed by its neighbouring Mihuu ward as Maraka cry foul in its allocation. The two wards are said to be the MP’s hometurf.

The electorate from Maraka ward led by area MCA has read mischief in the disbursement of CDF funds and has rallied behind Majani to seek court action against politics of discrimination and tribalism.
Efforts to get Sambu for comment bore no fruits as his phone went unanswered.
